About Me

Who I am

My name is Ivan Trejo-Mercado. I am currently studying at the University of Guelph. I am finishing a Bachelor of Arts program in International Development. I am taking an Agriculture class with Professor Manish Raizada. The professor has asked us to address some problems that subsistence farmers may have.

About the Project

Professor Raizada has asked the class to address everyday farming problems that subsistence farmers have to endure. I have chosen to focus this project towards women subsistence farmers. I have chosen to focus on women farmers because in many places women endure most of the farming responsibilities but lack most of the resources. Women continuously struggle everyday in order to produce enough food for their families. Sadly, in many homes the food produced is sometimes not enough. Thus, this project is dedicated in helping these women by illuminating the world with some simple solutions. Some of these solutions are very inexpensive and can easily be implemented. Thus, the more you know the more help you can be!
